All external stone and terra-cotta on the Neogothic Buildings and interconnecting tunnel system of the North Campus at City University of New York were restored in this project. Much of the terra-cotta was supported on badly corroded steel framing which also supported walls and floor members. The project involved extensive investigation of existing conditions and value engineering in order to determine the best modern methods to use for the restoration of these 100 year old buildings. The central tower of Harris Hall was in especially bad condition and in a separate project had to be completely shored to entirely replace the load bearing masonry walls.
