As a neighborhood preservation and revitalization in this historic Harlem area, this project was considered a means to stabilize the district through home ownership. The project has proved to be an anchor in the economic redevelopment of Harlem. The five, 4-story buildings consist of 116 residential duplex units, with one duplex typically above the other. Upper duplexes are reached by individual exterior stairs. All buildings were architecturally conceived to reflect the adjoining style of masonry buildings. Exterior walls consist of 2-wythes of composite load bearing cavity wall of 4" brick and block supporting long span hollow core concrete plank floors.
